Calling New Designers!

If you are interested in being a part of Boutique Challenge auctions, now is your time!  BCA is looking for a few designers to join the team.

Let's start with a little information about BCA!
We are a team of designers who work together to offer fans creations made from themes and challenges.
In auctions, all designers must submit handmade items or items that have been altered in some way.  It is a great way for designers to step out of the box and create items they may not create otherwise.
In addition, team members provide a huge support system for each other. We are all dedicated to helping each other grow, and we all work together in a friendly competitive environment. There is absolutely zero drama tolerated while, at the same time, everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions. We issue personal challenges to  members, cheer each other on, answer questions, offer suggestions, etc. The team is an amazing group of ladies who know how to support each other.

We do charge a small quarterly fee to all BCA Designers to help fund our promotions and advertising.
We are looking for a group of diverse designers who design items we are not currently offering. This does not mean that if you design something that is currently being offered you will not be considered-- Please apply!

Check out the BCA Facebook page and Blog to learn more about us...

Now that you know a little bit about BCA here is how to apply:

1. Be willing to step outside of the box and try new things! Our own comfort zone does not allow us to grow. :)
2. Have the availability to be an active team member. This not only consists of participating in challenges and themes but also being an active voice in the group. You must spread the word about every auction. We also require that you to participate in 1 out of every 3 auctions to remain active.
3. Know how to be professional. Customer service is #1 in this business and BCA prides itself on the customer service of team members. BCA fans know that we are a trusted group of designers, and they will always receive the best customer service from everyone on the team. They never have to worry when shopping with us! Being professional also means knowing how to take feedback from others on the team. We are all here to support each other and only want the best for one other.
4. Be willing to have a lot of fun!

Fabric Stash Swap Challenge

We had a Fabric Stash Swap! We had several ladies participating in this challenge and it was a lot of fun!

-Each lady sent 2 yards of fabric (single yard cuts, up to 2 prints) from their fabric stash to their randomly assigned partner.
-Once fabric was received they had to create something using that fabric, as many notions as they could dream of, and up to 1 yard (single cut, one print) of their own fabric.
-The accessories challenge was to create an item to match the fabric that was shown to them in a photo.

These ladies really knocked it out of the park!

Crochet Heart Garland {A tutorial by Stewiecakes Boutique}

    Crochet Heart Garland

These hearts are soft, sweet and the perfect Valentines Day decoration! You'll need a general understanding of crochet to complete this pattern.

Supplies Needed :
Size H/8-5.00MM crochet hook Medium weight yarn – this is a great pattern for using up scraps Scissors

Abbreviations Used:
ch – chain
ss – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
tc – triple crochet
hdc – half double crochet

Pattern:
start with a standard loop and ch 5, ss to first stitch to make a loop

ch 2, then 3tc , 3 dc, 1 tc, 3 dc, 3 tc, all into center loop ch 2, then ss into center

Round 2
ch 3, 2 hdc into top of first tc from round 1, 3 hdc into next stitch, hdc into next three stitches, dc into next two stitches, hdc into next three stitches, 3 hdc into next stitch, 2 hdc into next stitch, ch 3 and ss into center.

Round 3
ch 3, hdc into the top of ch 3 from round 2, 3 hdc into next stitch, 2 hdc into the next stitch, sc into the next 7 stitches, sc into the space between the 2 dc from round 2, sc into the next 7 stitches, 2 hdc into the next stitch, 3 hdc into next stitch, hdc into next stitch, ch 3, ss into center.

ch 2, sc into the top of ch 3 from round 3, hdc into next stitch, 2 hdc into next two stitches, hdc into next stitch, sc into next 8 stitches, ch 1, sc into next 8 stitches, hdc into next stitch, 2 hdc into next two stitches, hdc into next stitch, sc into next stitch, ch 2, ss into center, tie off.

You have two choices on your tie off, you can bring the ends to the front and tie in a bow, or tie them in the back and clip the ends short.

To make into a bunting.  Make 6 hearts or more, I personally like 7 and up.  Start with a standard loop and ch 20, join to the top of a heart, ch 7, join to the other side of the heart, ch 15 in between hearts, or
20 to end.  Continue until all hearts are used.

I hope you enjoy your bunting as much as I've enjoyed designing this.  I would love to see your completed projects, and hear your comments as to things you liked/disliked about this pattern.  Please feel free to sell items made from or use this pattern any way you like, please just don't claim it as your own. Any similarities of this pattern in part or full is purely unintentional.

A Handful of Love! {A tutorial by BumbleMonkey}

Materials: burlap,
paint, paintbrush,
heart stickers,
tape, scissors

Ready to go!
To help cut down on the mess, I use a plastic tablecloth from the dollar store under all our projects. I used painter’s tape to tape off the burlap into squares. Cutting through the tape will help cut down on all the burlap pieces flying around the house.

Paint your littles hand all over THEN place your heart sticker(s) in the palm, turn hand over onto burlap and stamp. SUPER EASY!
We used foam stickers because that is what we had and they worked well. We used craft paint because it washes up easily. When using craft paint, paint and stamp fast! It dries quickly and doesn’t transfer well if you move too slowly.

We finished our projects by framing them in frames from the dollar store. These will make perfect gifts for the grandparents this year! A tutorial by BumbleMonkey !
