BCA Boutique of the Week is Custom Giggles!

Boutique Challenge Auctions is all about a group of designers who come together to challenge each other and help each other step outside of our comfort zones. This week we would like to feature one of our amazing designers so that you can learn more about her and why she does what she does!

This week's Boutique of the Week is Custom Giggles! 

Let's talk to Teresa from Custom Giggles and learn more about her!

When did you open shop?

My online shop opened in December of 2011.

How did you start sewing?

I started sewing when I was younger. My grandmother started teaching me how to sew starting with clothes for my younger sister's Barbies! I was hooked and have dabbled in sewing different items off and on since.

 

Who are your favorite fabric designers?
I absolutely LOVE all Riley Blake, Moda, and Dena Fishbein!

When do you sew?

Whenever I can! Sewing is my passion. It is where I get to truly create something beautiful!

What did you do before customgiggles?

I worked 2 jobs in the medical field. I managed a residential group home for persons with various kinds of disabilities and I was a part time CNA at a nursing home.

What handmade possession do you most cherish?

My most cherished handmade possession is a baby blanket my great-grandmother crocheted for me.  It is something that I hope to one day pass down to my own children.

 

What does customgiggles mean to you?
Custom Giggles means pride, love, and joy to me. Pride because that is the feeling that radiates from within myself every time I create a piece for a precious little one; love because I absolutely love what I do; joy because it allows me to bring smiles to the ones I create for and because creating my items is happiness to me. It is the symbol of all my hard work -- it is part of me.
